Human
Rights Defender advocate Mr. M.A. Gofur (45) who is seating union parishad
chairman of Moshimnagar union of Monirampur police station, is a victim of violence who on 24th July 2012
while sitting in the office of Moniorampur Upozila PIO (Project Implementation
Officer) office at 11a.m, suddenly 4-5 assassinators entered in the office with
arms and attacked him and assaulted him and tried to kill him. Mr. M.A Gofur
fell on the ground; in the face of attack the office bearers cried out and
tried to resist him from the hands of hooligans, other people rushed there at
the shouting of office bearers and he was rescued from their hands and he then
and there was hospitalized in the Jessore general Hospital. The authorities of
Hospital referred him to
Mr.
M.A Gofur after being recovered from wounds of attack contested District Bar
Association Election on
In the face of attack another human rights defender Mr. Uttam Hari left
the country for ever.
Mr. Uttam Hari (50),
the Head master of Verchi Secondary High School and a social worker who has
been fighting for justice and assertion of peoples human rights ,while
appointing some teachers in his school as staffs, most of the members of school
managing committee under the umbrella of a political party took illegal bribe
from teacher-candidates and created illegal pressure on him and in the face of
threats he sought safe shelter at Keshabpur Saha Para and stayed there for
couple of months and one day before the
date of recruitment interview of
teachers he finding risk of life left the country for ever confidentially in the month of June – 2012
