Narrative description of Project:
Objectives:
§ To provide post literacy and continuing education
to the neo literate graduated from
different Non-Formal Education projects and any others program organized
by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and primary school dropouts;
§ To consolidate, upgrade and fine-tune the acquired
skills of the selected neo literate and
§ To provide the neo-literate with skill training
under continuing education course.
Target Beneficiaries:
The neo-literates those who are
graduated from different NFE programs and drop out from primary education.
Activities:
§ Teachers
training, education materials distribution among the children of NFE centers
(chalk, pencil, exercise book, books etc.).
§ Teachers’
refreshers course and monthly meetings.
§ Meeting
with the dropped out children and disabled children for admitting schools.
§ NFPE
education to the children, cultural activities, games and sports, etc.
§ Monthly
guardians meetings and school management committee meetings.
§ Arranging
annual cultural functions and sports for the school going children for
encouraging to go to schools regularly and to improve their brain and
mentality.
§ Encouraging
guardians, local elite, leaders, teachers, and religious leaders etc. to
motivate and encourage the people to send their children to schools not to involve
in heavy works.
§ Distribute
suitable aid-materials to the disabled children for going to schools easily
(wheel chairs, crutches, white sticks, tricycle etc.).
§ Arrange
seminar and workshop on child’s rights establishment.
§ Human
rights education to the community people.
§ Arrange
campaign, advocacy, lobbying with the local elite, teachers, administrations,
government departments, local clubs etc. for sending children to schools etc.
§ Arrange
professionals’ skills development training like tailoring, carpentry,
electrical works, candle making, paper bag making, stitching, block boutique,
poultry rearing, vegetable cultivation, etc.
A total of 75 continuing
education centres were organised through mobilising community. Programmes were
launched to provide post-literacy and CE support to 4500 ne0-literates through
practicing
literacy;
issue
based discussion;
developing
learners generated materials;
collecting
using supplementary reading materials from local source;
publication
of newsletter;
providing
vocational skill training and
